Special Diets

Special diets are created in order to satisfy the necessity of a particular person based of an existent health condition. Many diseases are associated with bad nutrition or eating habits, creating long term disorders that can affect your way of life. I will now number a variety of diets that are created to fit the lifestyle of any patient with a special condition which require the consumption of the following diets.

  1. Regular Diets: No restrictions, patient can have any food with a one meat per entrée.
  2. Liquid Diets: A liquid diet consists of clear liquids, such as water, gelatin, broth, coffee, tea and sodas that are easily digested and leave no undigested residue in your intestinal tract. Your doctor may prescribe a clear liquid diet before certain medical procedures or if you have certain digestive problems. Because a clear liquid diet can’t provide you with adequate calories and nutrients, it shouldn’t be continued for more than a few days.
  3. Full Liquids Diets: Blended soups, milk, sherbet, ice cream and creamy hot cereals.

On my next post I will address diets for other conditions.
